Spice Applesauce Cake

I just wanted to share this because it has become a favorite around our house. I think it is the cinnamon in the frosting that really makes the difference.

Old Fashioned Applesauce Spice Cake

Savor the warm feelings of comfort and contentment from this long-time favorite recipe. Bake a slice of nice today.

The Ingredients:

• 1 pkg Duncan Hines® Moist Deluxe® Spice Cake Mix
• 3 large eggs
• 1 1/4 cup applesauce
• 1/3 cup vegetable oil
• 1 cup chopped nuts
• 1 container Duncan Hines® Creamy Home-Style Classic Vanilla Frosting
• 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Baking Instructions:

1 Preheat oven to 350 ºF. Grease and flour 13x9-inch pan.
2 Combine cake mix, eggs, applesauce and oil in large bowl. Beat at medium speed with electric mixer for 2 minutes. Stir in nuts. Pour into bake pan.
3 Bake at 350 ºF for 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool in pan 15 minutes. Invert onto cooling rack. Turn right-side up. Cool completely.
4 For frosting, combine frosting and cinnamon;. Stir until blended. Spread over cooled cake.
